In partnership with Centre College’s Norton Center for the Arts, the Community Arts Center’s March 19 Starry Night Studio will feature a cello painting. All participants in the class will receive two complimentary tickets to the Brentano String Quartet performance, which will take place in the Norton Center’s Newlin Hall on April 5. Seating is limited for the class, so sign up today!
The class will be taught by Laura Clay, a December 2011 Centre College graduate, who majored in Studio Art with a minor in French. Laura spent her last semester studying in Strasbourg, France and hopes to pursue a career in Art Direction for a design or food magazine.
Since its inception in 1992, the Brentano String Quartet has appeared throughout the world to popular and critical acclaim. While they have performed in the world’s most prestigious venues, including Carnegie Hall and the Sydney Opera House, they have served as the first Resident Quartet at Princeton University since 1999. Brentano String Quartet’s Norton Center debut includes Bach’s final contrapunctus from “Art of Fugue”; Bussoni’s string quartet No. 2 in d-minor; and Beethoven’s string quartet in B-flat major, Op. 130 with “Grosse Fugue” finale (Op. 133).
