The Norton Center's reputation as "Kentucky's Home to the Stars" has been earned through Newlin Hall appearances by classical artists such as Yo-Yo Ma, Itzhak Perlman, and Kathleen Battle; great orchestras such as the Philadelphia Orchestra, the Royal Philharmonic, and the Boston Pops; top Broadway shows such as CATS, STOMP, and Rent; and popular stars such as Willie Nelson, Doc Severinsen, and Wynton Marsalis. Newlin Hall also provides the ideal setting for events such as the nationally televised Vice-Presidential Debate between Dick Cheney and Joseph Lieberman in October of 2000.
